Jacks Forensics is gearing up for its inaugural International Forensics Association contest in Dublin, Ireland, scheduled for March 2024. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity not only allows our students to immerse themselves in the unique atmosphere of an international tournament but also provides a chance to enhance their college speech and debate experiences.

While college speech and debate offer transformative experiences, our travel schedule often limits students from participating in study abroad opportunities. This tournament, however, presents a unique chance for our students to embrace the transformative power of international travel and competition.

Our students are wholeheartedly committed to this enriching experience, and your support is crucial in making their participation possible. For one student to go on this trip, the estimated cost is approximately $3500.

Your support makes this opportunity financially feasible, covering essential expenses like airfare and lodging. Your generosity not only gets our students on that Dublin stage but also fuels their personal and academic journey.

Your support means the world, and we can't wait to share the adventure with you.

What an incredible season!

Thanks to your support, Jackrabbits Forensics had a historic season with several milestones. Your contributions made it possible for us to compete in our first international tournament in Dublin, enhancing our opportunities and growth throughout the season.

We also proudly sent South Dakota’s only two representatives to the nation's oldest collegiate speaking tournament and achieved our first-ever top-20 finish at the American Forensic Association National Speech Tournament.

Your generosity has been instrumental in our success. Thank you for making these achievements possible.

Brigadier General Myrna Williamson ('60 English) has repeatedly shown how an education from South Dakota State University can change an individual and our world.  Gen. Williamson has showcased unwavering dedication in her service to both our country and our university. Inspired by learning of the upcoming Jackrabbits Forensics trip to Dublin and the International Forensics Conference, she has issued a challenge to support our team in reaching their destination.

Myrna has consistently embraced and helped others overcome challenges throughout her career, whether during her military service or as the lone female member of a six-person Oral Interp team all four years of high school in Gregory, SD.  Gen. Williamson looks back to her experience in Forensics as key to her ability to communicate effectively throughout her career.

While Myrna wasn't directly involved in Forensics during her years at SDSU, her enduring passion for assisting students in achieving success and developing leadership qualities has remained steadfast. In a testament to her commitment, Myrna has presented a challenge for others to step up and join her in supporting our Jackrabbits Forensics team. The funds generated from her challenge will contribute to sponsoring a student on the upcoming trip, with the overarching goal of inspiring others to contribute to this cause.

Thank you, Myrna!

Let's get to $1500!

Thanks for all the support in our first week! We would love to reach $1500 by the end of this week. This week our students are also doing clean up at Frost Arena and assisting with home football game on Saturday to help with our fundraising efforts.

We love the power of the activity and want you to check out a quick message from our Coach, Andrea.
