Essential needs shouldn’t stand between a student and their degree.
At South Dakota State University, students work hard to earn their degrees and build their futures. But when a student is worried about their next meal, an unexpected expense, or having access to basic necessities, staying focused on college becomes much harder.
The Student Essential Needs Hub brings critical support together through one coordinated initiative, connecting students with food, emergency aid, professional clothing, transportation and household support, financial wellness resources, and other campus and community services.
The need is real. 46.7% of SDSU students reported experiencing food insecurity in the 2024 American College Health Association National College Health Assessment. That need is reflected in the demand for campus resources. During the 2025-26 academic year, Jack's Cupboard served more than 180 students each week.
Your gift can help remove barriers so students can focus on what brought them to SDSU: learning, growing, and earning their degree.
Give today and help ensure Jackrabbits have the essentials they need to succeed and keep moving forward.
